Secret Writing Tip: Creative ideas can hit you at any time. Use a blank page in the back of your homework diary to keep notes of things you'd like to explore later.

Class Project

Write a short story about something crazy going wrong at a school festival or fete at *your* school. What crazy events and attractions would you organise if someone was insane enough to put you in charge?

Secret tip: Science and Mathematics often seem boring and repetitive BUT they can be heaps more fun once you learn to think creatively.

Science Experiment

Kirby and her team use light from a laptop computer at night to help them conduct paddock surgery. If they had time, they could have used survival techniques to light a fire as well. Split up into class groups to practice lighting small SUPERVISED fires with your teacher to see what kind of materials make the best kindling - including tissue paper, human hair, pet hair, bark, green gum leaves, dry leaves, twigs and metal scrapings from an aluminium can. Then rate them on a scale from best to worst. You should be amazed by the results!
