Bonus Question: How does Jayson stop the crocodile in East Timor from eating the bodies of the murdered villagers?Secret Writing Tip: Creative ideas can hit you at any time. Use a blank page in the back of your homework diary to keep notes of things you'd like to explore later.

Class Project

Write a short survival story about what happens when something goes wrong with your car  (or your   horse/bike/plane) and you're stranded for 3 days until somebody finds you. No cheating. You're mobile phone has been busted and the nearest village is full of head hunters or your enemies. How would you eat, drink and find shelter without them catching you? And what would you do to protect yourself from both two legged and four legged predators while still helping rescuers to find you?

Secret tip: Science and Mathematics often seem boring and repetitive BUT they can be heaps more fun once you learn to think creatively.

Science Experiment

Go to the biggest tree at your school and see how many things you can find living in or around it. Then draw a predator diagram to show who eats who and which creatures live in harmony. Include a picture of yourself if you'd eat any of the things you find, or if you'd keep some as pets. Once you've done it scientifically, try creating fantasy character names to replace the real ones on your diagram and you'll have a handy "relationship tree" to help you track love/hate relationships between characters in your fantasy world.
