Secret Writing Tip: Creative ideas can hit you at any time. Use a blank page in the back of your homework diary to keep notes of things you'd like to explore later.

Class Project

Write a short scary story about getting lost on the spooky path at midnight. Everyone in your class has to contribute at least one sentence or idea. Ask your teacher to send it to me and you'll win a free book or webchat for your school.

Secret tip: Science and Mathematics often seem boring and repetitive BUT they can be heaps more fun once you learn to think creatively.

Science Experiment

Ask your principal if you can take a few cuttings of leaves off the school plants, then - after he says yes - put the different types into plastic bags, leave them in the sun all day and measure how much water comes out of them. Compare leaf sizes and colours with the amount of water you get to see which would be the best ones to use in a survival situation.
